OUR SHELTER
Fayette County Animal Rescue is located on 5 beautiful acres in Rossville, TN. We have a small indoor facility that consists of 4 isolation rooms, 12 indoor/outdoor runs, a bathing area for the animals, a bathroom, washer/dryer and storage. The vast majority of our shelter is made up of large outdoor yards. All outdoor yards contain a carport to provide shelter from the weather in addition to their dog houses. Each yard also has a swimming pool in the summer, they all have Kuranda beds for the dogs to lay on and all have metal benches for visitors who come to socialize the dogs. All regular facility maintenance is handled by volunteers.
We have been in our facility for almost 25 years and our shelter has begun to show its age. Historically we have spent all of our budget directly on the animals and patched the shelter as needed. We were blessed in 2013 to receive a large
donation specifically for shelter renovations and repairs. We used that money to complete a mini-renovation. In Fall 2013 we had all leaks, rotten/chewed wood, holes, etc. repaired inside the shelter. We installed more durable materials such as tile, hardiboard, metal sleeves, etc. to improve the durability of the facility. We expanded our storage, trim/removed trees, installed new fencing and more. In 2015 we continued our renovation and completely tore down and replaced 15 outdoor yards with heavy duty fencing. We love the calming environment our shelter provides our rescues and the comforting experience it provides them.
Although our shelter is beautiful we do still have renovation projects that need to be funded. Click here for additional information.

Holding PensOur shelter is completely cleaned every single day. During cleaning, the dogs inside the shelter are moved to these covered holding pens. The holding pens are 9 gauge chain link, covered by a large carport. We are currently in the process of installing outdoor ceiling fans and lighting under the carport. | BenchesEach of our outdoor yards has a metal bench so that volunteers can be comfortable as they socialize our rescues. | OfficeYears ago a wonderful lady donated this building to our shelter to be used as an office. Volunteers put up drywall, a ceiling, lighting and a floor so it is usable. One day we'll have a "real" office! |
Storage ShedA fantastic volunteer donated this shed to us and we use it for all of our facility equipment and tools as well as additional storage.
